My teaching philosophy centers on cultivating a deep understanding of economic concepts while fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and real-world applications. I view economics not merely as a collection of theories and models, but as a powerful lens through which we can better understand and engage the world around us. I aim to create a classroom environment where every student feels heard, respected, and empowered to apply their economic knowledge—not only to solve problems but to contribute to building a more just and inclusive society. By integrating diverse perspectives, case studies, and active learning strategies, I encourage students to critically examine how economic policies affect different communities. Lectures and coursework teach students how to develop the tools needed to conduct research.
My teaching interests include labor and urban economics, public finance, policy and program evaluation, as well as applied econometrics and statistics. I have experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses across a range of institutional settings, from small liberal arts colleges to large public research universities.
Currently, I teach Econometrics, Public Finance, and Advanced Mathematics and Statistics for Economists at Northeastern University.
